MEOW Now! Program Manager

MEOW Now, a program of Friends of Strays, works to humanely reduce the free-roaming cat population in Pinellas County by providing targeted Trap - Neuter - Vaccinate - Return (TNVR), caregiver support and advocacy.

The MEOW Now Program Manager will manage all programmatic aspects of the MEOW Now Program under Friends of Strays. They will handle the calls and emails related to TNVR. They will coordinate with other shelters and spay/neuter clinics to maintain appropriate resources for the program.

WORKING RELATIONSHIPS

Works directly with Shelter Director and Medical Team. The manager will train, coach, direct, and work closely with approved volunteers to help with trapping, transport, care and handling of cats, and cleaning of space and equipment.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Scheduling of surgeries with FOS medical team or partners
  • Scheduling and coordinating of trapping and program volunteers
  • Transport cats to and from rescue and shelter partners.
  • Manage and schedule transport of cats going to and from the shelter and/or surgery providers
  • Manage and assist volunteers to provide care of animals in holding before and after surgery, including cleaning up after cats in traps.
  • Maintain inventory of equipment and necessary consumable supplies.
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitization of holding space, equipment, and vehicles.
  • Accept calls and respond to emails from the public with questions or concerns related to TNVR. (facebook messages?)
  • Collaborate with the communications and marketing manager to create, plan and execute social media content
  • Educating the public on community policies and the importance of TNVR.
  • Assist in all aspects of the shelter when asked.

Skill Requirements

  • Must demonstrate the Core Values of the organization on and off the job.
  • Ability to read, write and communicate effectively
  • Computer skills to include Microsoft Suite Programs
  • Ability to work daily under stress and pressure while maintaining attention to detail
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and utilize problem solving skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends as required.
  • Valid driver's license with clean driving record.
  • Able to lift or carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Shelter experience preferred.
  • Animal handling experience preferred.
  • Animal Intake experience is a plus.
